Chandigarh Region Innovation and Knowledge Cluster (CRIKC)
Based on the initiative of Punjab Government, a cluster at Chandigarh known as Chandigarh Region Innovation and Knowledge Cluster (CRIKC) has been established with lead role being played by the Panjab University. CRIKC’s mission is to foster and sustain close academic alliances between institutions of higher education and research in the Chandigarh region, to facilitate innovation and knowledge creation, achieving excellence in all academic spheres without compromising in any manner the authority of the participating institutions. INST become part of this initiative which involves 14 premier research institutions like (PGIMER, CSIO, IMTECH, IISER, NIPER, NABI, TBRL, ISB, PEC, IIT-Ropar, NITTTR, GMCH, INST, CIAB) in and around Chandigarh. INST has been identified in the frontier areas of Nanoscience and Nano-biotechnology.

Mission of the Nanoscience group:
♦ To establish sophisticated research facilities for multi-institutional use in the tri-city area and nearby places.
♦ To organize joint conferences and seminars for effective interaction between the researchers from diverse backgrounds.
♦ To arrange Technical Workshops to train students and researchers in several sophisticated instruments.
