My research interest lies at the interface of engineering, medicine and biology to develop novel platforms for understanding, diagnosing and treating human disease. Specifically, my work is focused on diagnostics and treatments for cancer. My research workis centred on designing and development of targeted nanoparticles to perform complex task such as multimodal, non-invasive tumour imaging; trigger the release of a targeted, therapeutic payload and multifunctional agents for cancer therapies.
The broad long-term goal of my research is to advance understanding of mechanisms of carcinogenesis and to contribute to cancer prevention, as it is essential and timely role to play in studies aiming to advance our understanding of molecular mechanisms underlying carcinogenesis and in developing strategies to reduce the cancer burden. Future research activities will be focused on:
- Better mechanistic understanding of tumorigenesis.
- Biomarker discovery and cancer prevention.
